Fit of Curt Class I Hitch # C11085 on 2012 Honda Accord Coupe W/ HFP Ground Effects
Question:
I have a 2012 honda accord coupe with HFP under-spoiler ground effect will this have enough clearance between the bumper and the hitch?

Trailer hitches are designed for the factory vehicle configuration. When aftermarket parts such as ground effects or exhaust systems are added, it can have an effect on the fit of the hitch. Curt has not tested the fit of their # C11085 hitch on a vehicle equipped with the HFP ground effects, so they cannot tell me if the hitch will fit or not.
I spoke with my contact at Curt, and found that the hitch has a 4-7/8 inch drop. The top of the receiver tube that must clear the underside of the bumper fascia or ground effect is 4-7/8 inches below the surface of the vehicle underbody where the hitch mounts. You can measure downward from the underside of the frame members, and see if that will clear the lowest part of the ground effect/bumper valance at the rear of the vehicle. If so, the hitch would most likely be a fit.
