Troubleshooting Brake Controller Wiring of 2021 Jayco Ford E-Series not Active
Question:
I installed a 90195 Tekonsha brake controller with a 3034-P wiring adapter plug on a 2021 Ford E-series cutaway Jayco Class C motor home. After installation I do not have power to the brake controller. I checked the under hood 30a fuse for the brake controller, it appears to be good. Testing the wires at the plug going into the brake controller, I get no voltage reading across the white and black wires, and also no voltage reading across the white and red wires when pressing the brake pedal. Would this indicate a bad wiring adapter, or is there something more that needs to be done such as have a Ford dealer enable the brake controller via the BCM?

It does seem like your brake controller wiring isn't active for some reason. This could possible mean you would need to take it to a dealer to have them find the problem and fix it/activate it. Or if you wanted a solution that could get you going now you could bypass all of the factory wiring and just cut the black and white wires out of the harness and use 10 gauge wire like part # 10-2-1 to run wiring from the controller to the vehicle battery. This for sure would work and would eliminate any guess work.
Also make sure that the wires on your current brake controller adapter are matching the pins of your Ford connector. We've heard sometimes the pin out on the cutaway chassis's are weird.
On the power wire you'd need to use a breaker like part # 9510 and you'd be set.
