Flat Towing A 2020 Jeep Wrangler Behind A Converted School Bus
Question:
I have a converted school bus and I want to get it setup to tow a 2020 Jeep Wrangler. I understand the baseplate requirement, but there are lots of tow bar options to choose from. Can you please give me some guidance on the components needed to connect the Jeep to the bus? Thanks!

Yes I can certainly point you in the right direction. Lets start with the base plate and work from there. For your 2020 Jeep Wrangler I recommend the Roadmaster direct connect # RM-521453-5. This will work with any Roadmaster brand, or Roadmaster compatible tow bar. My recommendation is the etrailer SD tow bar # e74ZR. This is our etrailer brand which is made for us by Demco, and is made specifically to fit the Roadmaster base plates. I really like these tow bars, the prices are generally very competitive compared to other similar tow bars. It is 6,000 lb rated, so more than enough for your jeep. It also includes integrated safety cables, which you will need.
For your brake lights I recommend the Roadmaster diode kit # RM-15267. This will include everything your need to wire your brake lights, and connect to the bus. Assuming the bus does have a standard 7 way plug on the back.
If you plan to use a supplemental braking system, I recommend the blue ox Patriot # BLU37TR. This is a fully wireless portable system. They are extremely easy to setup and use. They work off of inertia so we do not have to tap into the vehicles brakes at all. You would just need a 12v outlet # RM-9332 to plug into.
You also will likely need a drop hitch to level your tow bar. I recommend the Blue ox # BLU28XR, which can be adjusted up to 8" of drop.
I also recommend getting a cover # BX88309 and a hitch lock # e98882 for your tow bar. Those are optional of course, but its always a good idea to protect your tow bar.
That will cover everything. I have linked a few install videos below if you want to take a look.
