Recommended Solution for a Tailgate Hitting Trailer Jack Handle on a 2022 Chevrolet Colorado
Question:
I have a 2022 Chevy Colorado. I pull a 22 travel trailer 3100 lbs with a weight distributing hitch. My tailgate hits the jack/handle. I have read that hitch extenders are not advised for weight distributing hitches. I cannot side-mount a jack due to the hitch bars. Ideas? Really low profile jacks? Dont care if its manual.

I recommend just using an extended WDS shank like the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4500.
This is going to push out your WDS from your truck 18", and should give you more than enough room to clear your tailgate.
You're just going to have to measure the rise and drop and let us know the tongue weight of your trailer and we can get you outfitted with the correct one.
