Installing Trailer Light with Two Wires on Trailer with One Wire
Question:
I purchased some side marker lights that are LED and have a black and red wire coming out of the back. I have a single lead wire going to the side markers. Is one power and the other is ground? Do I need to purchase a different light to work with a one wire set up?

Your current trailer wiring was setup for lights that ground through their mounting hardware so what you would need to do is run that single power wire to the power wire of the light and then run the other wire of the assembly to the mounting hardware so that it will ground and you'd be set.
