Trailer Hitch For RV on CHevy Express Chassis

Question:

Hi I have a Skoolie, based on Chevy express 3500. Collins made it. What hitch would fit? The frames are 42 inches apart and the hitch has to drop at least 4 inches to clear the bumper. It’s about 7 inches in front of the bumper the distance from frame to end of the bus bumper Also, what wiring harness would work? I can send you a photo of the wiring plug and the wiring diagram. The tail and brake lights are on different circuits. Class IV is what I’m looking for. Thanks

For the hitch, you'll need to go with a universal weld-on option, and since the frame is 42 inches apart, and you need a drop of at least 4 inches, the best option is the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch w/ Brackets # C47CR.

The # C47CR will give you a drop of about 9 inches from the frame (which is the closest available to needing at least 4 inches), and is for frame widths up to 44 inches wide. You mentioned Class 4 but I assume you're good with a Class 5 for that added bit of strength.

Then for the wiring, we do not have a custom fit option for your specific vehicle, but that's okay because you can still add one, you'll just need to hardwire it, the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236.
