Can I Put Bigger Tires on My Horse Trailer?

Question:

I have a horse stock trailer that currently has 205 75 r15 on them. I am needing/wanting to put a bigger tire on it as the height of modern trucks have increased. It has PLENTY a of clearance. Would I go with a 7.0-15 or a 225 75 r15? The GVWR of the trailer is 7k with 2 3500# axels.

A 7.0-15 is closest to a 225/75/R15 tire and it will work so long as you have 3" - 4" of clearance between the top of your tire and the bottom of your fender. Your 205/75/R15 tire is 27.11" in diameter. A 225/75/R15 tire like item # AM10256 will have a 28.3" diameter. This should work with no problems so long as you have the proper clearance for the suspension to travel.
