Is There a Way to Tell if the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty is Hooked Up Correctly without a Trailer
Question:
I just installed the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty brake controller. I do not have a trailer to connect yet picking up in a few days. The led is not lighting up at all on the knob and from the install instructions it seems like this is because there is no trailer connected at the hitch. Is there anyway for me to tell if the controller is working properly without having a trailer connected? Thank you

While there is not a way to test the "full" scope of working properly, you can definitely ensure that it is receiving the proper power and starting the calibration process. A trailer does need to be connected in order for the LEDs to be on when using the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR.
If you press the manual override without a trailer connected, the led light should flash blue, but go out again, which means the controller does have power.
Even without a trailer connected the Tow-Pro Liberty will continue to calibrate, it just won't have a constant led light. According to Redarc, if you just drive normally, even without a trailer connected, the calibration will still take place.
This is about as in depth as you will get for testing without having a trailer to hook up.
