Is a Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch Needed for a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 w/ a 6-1/2 Foot Bed?

I have a 2022 GMC AT4 HD Diesel with a 6.5 foot bed. Will the BandW 5th wheel hitch BSRVK 3715 work or do I need a sliding hitch for a Outdoors RV Glacier Peak Titanium Series F28RKS Trailer?

It might! It is definitely recommended to use a sliding hitch, like the Item # BWRVK3775 you referenced, on any bed length that is short than 8'. That being said they are making 5th wheel trailer's noses shorter. I took a look at your Outdoors RV Glacier Peak Titanium Series F28RKS and it definitely looks like it has a shorter profile. What you need to be concerned with now is the bumper of your truck hitting the front of your 5th wheel when you're making turns.

There's a pretty simple formula that will give you an accurate answer. (A + B) - C = Clearance

A = Distance from center of the 5th wheel hitch jaw to truck cab - the center of the B&W Companion hitch sits right in the middle of the 4 pucks.
B = Length of pin box past trailer nose
C = Width of trailer divided by 2

At least 4" of clearance is recommended to safely execute a 90 degree turn.

I can confirm that both the item # BWRVK3715 and item # BWRVK3775 are compatible with the factory puck system that comes with the 2022 GMC Sierra 3500s.
