Will the Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack Work with a 20' Tandem Axle 14k Tilt Deck Trailer

Question:

I was chatting with Brook who recommended this jack. I have a 20’ tandem 14k tilt deck trailer. Trailer weighs about 4500 lbs. I haul a tractor and implements around 5000-6000lbs. It currently has a large welded on square tube manual crank. Is the the appropriate jack for my use and if I cut the old one off, how can I mount this?

From what I can find, the square jacks coming on the trailers like your 20’ tandem 14k tilt deck trailer are 5,000 lb. capacity square jacks. The Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack # JET-5000 has that 5,000 lb. capacity and is an electric option. It does have a bolt-on installation, but can be welded if necessary.

It typically goes through a hole in the coupler intended for the jack and then mounts with 3 bolts. You could also think about welding on a couple of the Support Plate for 2-1/4" OD A-Frame Jacks # JSP-100 to create a bracket if your trailer does not have one.

Since I do not know the make/model of your trailer, I am trying to cover the bases. If you want to send in a picture or the make/model of your trailer, I can make a more specific recommendation.
