Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2016 Ford F-350 w/ OEM Prep Package

Question:

I have a 2016 Ford F-350 with the oem puck system and a 6-9 bed.. will this hitch be compatible with that arrangement? I am wanting to pull a 1997 24’ wilderness fifth wheel? Thanks

Yes and no. The Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # C16545-16017 will definitely fit in the puck system of your 2016 Ford F-350. The reason I said no was because of the shorter 6' 9" bed your truck has. It is typically recommended for shorter bed trucks to either use a rotating pin box or a slider hitch.

The Curt sliders require an adapter to work with the OEM puck system. Not only is this another part to purchase but it raises your 5th wheel hitch up a couple of inches. Instead, I recommend using the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w Slider item # BWRVK3370. The base of this hitch will drop directly down into your pucks. The Companion has a 20,000 lbs capacity and will give you 11" of travel for making tight turns.
