Weight Capacity of Rack'Em Manual Tow Dolly

Question:

Does the listed weight capacity for a trailer dolly refer to the trailers gross weight or hitch weight? My TT has a dry weight of 3200 lbs. and hitch weight of 409 lbs, and Im trying to determine if a powered dolly would be required to move it short distances on a flat, paved surface.

The 500 lbs weight rating for the Rack'Em Trailer Dolly # RA20 is for the tongue weight (also called hitch weight).

So in your case this tow dolly will be able to handle the weight of your trailer, you'll just have to see if that's something you can pull manually. If you have a bad back and/or want to have an easier time handling your trailer then I recommend checking out the Trailer Valet XL which comes with the following hitch ball sizes:

- 2" Hitch Ball # TVXL2
- 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # TVXL25

These can be operated manually with the handle, or you can use a power drill and the included adapter to operate the dolly via power.

Attached are some videos for you to check out.
