Weight Distribution Recommendation for Trailer with GVWR of 4,830 lb

Question:

Can you recommend a couple sway controls for my single axle travel trailer? GAWR 4400 lb, GVWR 4830 lb. 2 5/16 ball hitch. Thanks and let me know if you need any more info.

Sounds like you are looking for a weight distribution and sway control option for your boat trailer that has a GVWR of 4,830 lbs. For that the Reese Strait Line part # RP66083 would be a really good option as it has the best sway control at fighting sway before it starts. Then for a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball you'd want the part # 19286.

If you were wanting something a little easier on the ole wallet the Fastway e2 part # FA94-00-0600 would also work well too. It uses a 2-point friction sway control which works to slow down sway as it happens instead. For a ball to use with this system you would want the part # EQ91-00-6100.

Worth mentioning is that most sway problems are due to a improper trailer loading where there isn't enough tongue weight or a trailer that isn't sitting level.
