How To Determine Which Wires on 1157 Base Power Each Filament When Wires Are Same Color

how do you tell what terminal on a 1157 bulb is blinker ? the two wires are blk. coming out of socket

With your base having the same color wires you are going to need to bench test it with a Bulb # A1157B to verify which wire powers each of the filaments in the bulbs. The manufacturer should have used different colored wires like the Roadmaster # RM-155-2 which has black for ground, red for brake/turn and brown for running lights.
