Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 7,700 lbs Trailer

Question:

Have a 2021 GMC Yukon Danali with tow package, with following information GVWR: 7400lbs GCWR 14,50 lbs RGAWR 4,300lbs, Curb Weight: 5,786lbs Max Payload: 1612lbs Conventional Twr: 8,200lbs Max Tongue Weight: 820lbs. The manual states that when towing anything over 6,000 lbs to use a weight distribution hitch. The trailer has a dry weight of 6,419lbs, max capacity of 2,381 lbs and tongue weight of 835lbs My question first and foremost, will this weight distribution hitch work for this combination of SUV and Trailer? Secondly, if it is, will this hitch system allow us to backup without having to first exit the vehicle to unhook before hand?

Yes, it will. The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control item # EQ37100ET works with trailers with a tongue weight range of 600 lbs - 1,000 lbs. It looks like your Yukon tops out at 7,700 lbs so you will want to make sure you do not exceed that weight when you have your trailer loaded. Unless stated in your owner's manual a weight distribution system will not increase your towing capacity.

You will be able to back up with the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System item # EQ37100ET installed. I have linked a review video below so you can see first hand how this system works.
