Need Replacement Installation Hardware for Draw-Tite Class III Hitch 75531
Question:
I had originally installed this then got a new car then had to get new bolts and washers. The instructions call for a M12 bolt-I think this is wrong as their is not bolts in the metric range M12 1.25X25-I think its more a M8 as that does have the 1.25x25 I think etrialer needs to clearify this. Also Home Depot has the M8. and conical washers.

The installation instructions from Draw-Tite for their Class III 2-Inch Hitch Receiver # 75531 do call for six M12 x 1.25 x 25 grade 8.8 hex bolts. I spoke to my technical contact there and he confirmed that this bolt specification shown in their instructions is correct and remains valid for your 2014 Mazda CX-9.
You can order a complete replacement hardware kit from etrailer by entering part RHK in the search box. Once you have entered that in the search box on our site, you can then enter the hitch number 75531 and select the hitch manufacturer, Hidden Hitch, from the drop-down menu. This will enable you to order the correct replacement hardware for your trailer hitch.
You will want to use a torque wrench to ensure you install these six bolts to the manufacturer torque specification shown in the instructions. The hitch cannot deliver its rated capacity unless installed with the specified hardware and torque rating.
I suggest you refer to the linked article that concerns how to clean factory weld nuts before hitch installation. You might want to use the Deka Wire Brush # DW00254 or similar item to make the process easier.
