Are The Spring Bars On Weight Distribution Hitches Removable To Ease In Removal?

Question:

I am looking for a Weight Distribution setup w/sway control for my 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 to pull a travel trailer. My question is... Are the swing bars removeable? When I reach my destination and unload does the set-up break down for easy storage or does the hitch and swing bars remain one unit? Thanks.

Yes, most weight distribution hitch systems will breakdown into separate pieces easily once you reach your destination. Personally, I recommend using one of the Equal-i-zer weight distribution hitch systems as I feel they are the best in quality. They have a sturdy design and continue to be the hitch all other companies try to compete with. You will need to select the correct system based on the weight of your trailer. If you need further help selecting the correct system from the list below please let me know what trailer you have.

200-600lbs Tongue Weight, Trailer Up to 6,000lbs # EQ37060ET
600-1,000lbs Tongue Weight, Trailer Up to 10,000lbs # EQ37100ET
800-1,200lbs Tongue Weight, Trailer Up to 12,000lbs # EQ37120ET
1,000-1,400lbs Tongue Weight, Trailer Up to 14,000lbs # EQ37140ET
1,200-1,600lbs Tongue Weight, Trailer Up to 16,000lbs # EQ64FR

With the Equal-i-zer you will be able to store the spring bars along with pins and clips in either the trailer storage area or your truck. The sway brackets will stay attached to the trailer and most will generally leave the hitch inserted in their receiver until they return home. The Carrying Tool # 303-HG-712 makes installing and removing the hitch much easier if you frequently tow.
