Troubleshooting Utility Trailer Lighting Working on Suburban But Not on 2018 Honda Pilot

Question:

I have a utility trailer on which the lights work with my 2003 Suburban 7 way to 4 in line adaptor, but not with my 2018 H0nda Pilot or a friends Acura MDX. The trailer has incandescent lights. I installed the Honda wiring harness purchased from etrailer a couple of years ago.

With your utility trailer lights working on your 2003 Chevrolet Suburban there is likely something wrong with the wiring on your 2018 Honda Pilot and friends MDX. I do see the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56291 you got for your Pilot does tie into the factory connector and fuse panel. Be sure to check the fuse along with connector. A Test Light # PTW2993 can be used to check for power on the harness to verify you have power going into the module and see if power is coming out to the 4-way. If you determine the module itself is bad then I recommend switching to the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118760 as I have found the Tekonsha powered modules to be superior to the Curt.
