Bypassing Factory Trailer Brake Controller on 2015 GMC Sierra 3500
Question:
Looking at the Tekonsha P3 for my 2015 Sierra 3500 HD. You answered the question on bypassing the factory brake controller on a 2015Chevy 2500, https://www.etrailer.com/question-382456.html Will it be the same for a GMC Sierra 3500 HD Crew Cab with the factory brake controller? The box by the emergancy brake looks the same and the plug for the wire adapter is available

The bypass method for the factory integrated trailer brake controller is the same on a GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado. I have attached an article for you below. The process is basically just cutting the blue wire from the back of the controller and routing your own to the trailer connector. The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 will be a great option and can then be used with the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3016.
