Recommended Brake Controller and 7-Way for 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

I currently have a 4 way trailer harness I purchased a few years ago from etrailer.. I want to upgrade 4 to 7-way and add a brake controller to my SUV. Should I purchase these to complete the job? a 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 12 Gauge Wires Item # ETBC7L b CURT Trailer Brake Controller with Adapter - 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class Code: C51170-C51515 What other wiring, fuses, screws, zip ties etc... should I purchase?

If I were you, I would go with a wireless trailer brake controller for your 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class. I doubt you will be towing everyday so not having to run a bunch of wires into the vehicle, splice into factory wires, or drill into the dash would be a much better option. This is all accomplished with a wireless trailer brake controller like the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller part # C51180 and then the 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7L. This is a complete package that has everything you need except for some basic hand tools.
