Smaller Trailer Tire and Wheel for 13 inch Wheel of Trailer to Prevent Tire Rubbing
Question:
I have a tandem axle air boat trailer unknown brand that was modified into a pontoon bunk trailer. Currently has 13 Inch tires but noticed they do rub when axle is bottomed out. I estimate total weight at 2500 lbs and considering going with either a 5.30-12 tire and wheel or a 205/65-10 tire and wheel. Is there any benefit of one over the other besides load capacity and clearance issues.

Going down to a smaller diameter tire will prevent the tire from hitting the frame like you are experiencing. A 5.30-12 like the part number # AM30850 would be a great solution for you.
