Part Needed to Convert 4-Flat to 5-Flat on Vehicle
Question:
I was pulling a boat trailer with a 5 pin flat connector with my 2005 Trailblazer that has a 4 pin flat connector. They mated ok except for the exposed male pin containing the blue wire. The trailer has brakes. When I tried to back the trailer into the garage it was like the brakes were on. Is this something that can happen?

Expert Reply:
A 4-way only powers the light signals so I don't see how it could activate the brakes. I recommend going from a 4-way to a 5-way on your tow vehicle with an adapter, the Tow Ready 4 Pole to 5 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter # 20036.
