Recommended Hitch and E-Bike Rack for a 2011 Volvo C70 Convertible

Question:

Expert advice please. 2011 Volvo C70 convertible. Hitch and bike rack suggestions for 2 E-Bikes, total weight 140 lbs approx. PLUS rack weight. At least 1 with Step Thru frame design, fenders. Hopefully able to get into trunk and or lower cvt top with the rack attached and bikes in place. I read some of the great info QandAs on the site but I didnt see anything specific to E Bikes and their heavier weight. Thank you

The only hitch available for a 2011 Volvo C70 convertible is the Curt Trailer Hitch item # C11065. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Volvo with included hardware. This is a class I hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver it has a 200 lbs maximum tongue weight and a 2,000 lbs towing capacity.

The highest capacity bike rack that fits a Class I hitch is the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack item # TH903202. The EasyFold has a 65 lbs per-bike capacity, so you would have to remove the batteries of your electric bikes to meet the capacity of this rack. It weighs 50 lbs. The padded clamp design will work with your step through style bike rack. It does have a tilt away function.

What's really nice about this rack also is that it has a ramp setup that can pull out to help you load and unload your bikes. I also attached a review video for the rack for you to check out as well.
