Recommended Wiring Harness for a 2017 Kia Sorento
Question:
C56256 and Kia Sorento wiring harness issues. If my 2017 Kia Sorento doesnt have the factory trailer wiring harness package and I install the C56256 kit, it shouldnt catch on fire, right? Im told by Kia that the factory trailer wiring harnesses actually could catch on fire for some reason. Thanks!

No, it definitely shouldn't catch on fire. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C56256 has been on the market for years now and there haven't been any complaints about it spontaneously combusting. There was an issue with one of Kia's harnesses that was being sold at the dealership for the 2023 model year so maybe that's what they were talking about.
