Could Hitch of 5th Wheel RV Carry Weight of 250 lb Generator

Question:

Hi Want to carry a 250 pound generator camping and I am not so sure about mounting it on my 5th wheel rv hitch. Will this support 250 pounds while driving down the road? I will purchase a generator box or something similar.

It's possible the hitch of your 5th wheel RV is rated for the weight of your generator but you would have to check with the manufacturer of the RV to see what the capacity is. It could also be listed on the hitch on a sticker. You would need to look for a "tongue weight rating" and it would need to be higher than the weight of your generator and the hitch mounted carrier you plan to use.

We have hitch mounted generator carriers like the part # TLA7901 which has a 16 by 21 inch tray and we have the part # TLA7752 which has a 24 by 27 inch tray.
