Replacement Factory Trailer Connector and Wiring Harness for 2002 Ford F-250
Question:
I have a 2002 f 250 super duty 7.3 diesel. My problem is with the existing trailer light plug in all my lights work. My electric breaks do not work however. The trailer light wiring is on the driver side behind the number. I am looking to find a new wiring harness and plug. 7 pin round. I may have the wrong break controller in the cab. I have power to it but it does not control my trailer breaks. I can hook it to any other truck and they work fine. At this point I am frustrated and any recommendations would help immensely. I am pulling four horses regularly and it’s not safe with out trailer breaks. Please help me!

I do have an option for you but we don't offer replacement factory trailer wiring harnesses. In order to obtain these you'd need to reach out to the dealer. That said, these will be very expensive and I instead just recommend splicing in a new harness and connector using the 7-Pole and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Sockets with Mounting Bracket and Wiring part # HM40975-11998. If this does not fix the issue with the brakes, you have a problem on the brake output wire which runs from the brake controller in the cab to the trailer connector, usually blue. It's going to be hard to trace this wire so running your own is likely going to be fastest and least troublesome, you can use the part # 10-1-1 for this.
