Is A Brake Light Relay Kit Required To Install The Roadmaster Even Brake In A 2018 Ford Transit  

Question:

I have roadmaster even brake. I using it on a 2018 ford transit 350. I. Install a bulb and socket taillight bx8869. My question do I need a brake lite relay or i use a hybrid-power diode. When I test braking it come up no light switch detected.

The Blue Ox Tail Light Wiring Kit - Bulb and Socket # BX8869 will completely bypass your vehicle's wiring so you would not need to use a diode or brake light relay kit # RM-88400 for your lighting functions. The ICX transmitter should be connected to the cold side of your brake light switch, which would be a purple/white wire. This would be wired into terminal 1 on the transmitter and would provide the braking signal when using the Even Brake # RM-9400, or while testing the system.

With your 2018 Ford Transit the wire is accessible, but if it wasn't you would instead use a stop light switch kit # RM-751000 in order to simulate that signal.
