Recommended Parts to Wire a Truck Bed Converted to a Trailer

Question:

I have a 72-80s Dodge truck bed I plan to use as a trailer. The OEM light fixtures are still present, as is the wiring for them. What would I need to wire them for plug and play to connect with my vehicle to meet legal driving use requirements?

To control your former trucks lights you are going to need the 20 Ft 4-Way Trailer Wiring Harness item # A20WB. This will give you a 4-flat connector that will plug into your tow vehicle and enough wiring to get back to both tail lights.

Depending on whether or not the brake and turn signals are run through different bulbs and wires you might need a converter. The Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter item # 118158 is what you need if your wires are separate. However, if they are combined you can just hardwire in item # A20WB.

I have linked an installation video below.
