Constant Voltage on Brake Output Pin of 1999 Ford F-250 with Tekonsha POD Controller
Question:
Hello, I just installed one of your Tekonsha POD controllers, Part Numbers: 39523,3035-P, with your ford pigtail and new 7 way plug using the factory wiring in my 99 F250 SD. I now have a constant 2.9 volts at the 7 way plug where the blue wire is located for the controller. The 2.9 V remains the same regardless of me adjusting the power output or operating the manual slide control. All the other pins are reading 0 volts using a good quality multi meter. I have never hooked up a trailer to test things yet, and also can say I have no light on the controller when the brake pedal is pressed or the slide control is activated when the truck is running. Your suggestions? Thank you,

I'm not totally sure why this is happening in all honestly, if you unplug the Tekonsha POD Trailer Brake Controller part # 39523 does the power go away? If so, check the blue wire for voltage coming from the brake controller, if you get power here without the pedal pressed or the override then you know the controller is bad. If you don't, odds are there is a short on the blue wire somewhere between the brake controller and trailer connector which means you'd have to start tracing and checking wires. I'd also check for corrosion at or near the trailer connector.
