How to Hardwire in a Hopkins Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2004 Toyota Camry
Question:
Im a little confused regarding how to intall this wire adapter/converter I purchased. Its the Hopkins HM48915 4 pole tailight adapter. I would like to install it onto my 2004 Toyota Camry, as Ive installed a trailer hitch. Can you provide either a video on how to install this part, or more detail than you current video provides regarding how to install this product? Im not sure how the wires need to be ed, and I dont know which wires go to the drivers side tailight, and which ones go to the passenger side tailight. Any additional information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There are several different trailer wiring options available for the 2004 Toyota Camry but # HM48915 is not one of them.
The wire functions on this harness are as follows:
White is ground, attach to bare metal surface
Brown is running lights, attach to running light wire on driver side of vehicle
Yellow is left turn signal, attach to left turn signal wire on vehicle
Green is right turn signal, attach to right turn signal wire on vehicle
Red is brake lights, attach to brake light wire on drivers or passenger's side
You will need to test the vehicle wiring to determine the functions of the wires. You will need a circuit tester such as # ALL640595 to test the vehicles wires.
The best option would be to use a T-connector style harness that just plugs in line with the vehicle tail light wiring such as # PTW2993.
