Trailer Hitch and Hitch Mount Folding Cargo Carrier for a 2004 Toyota Sienna
Question:
Looking at trailer hitches and cargo carrier for my 2004 Sienna. I like the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, # C13105 and Curt folding Cargo Carrier - C18131 or C18132 but I understand the distance from hitch pin to bumper edge is 5 1/4 in and these Carriers will not fold on the Sienna. Are all the hitches for the Sienna such that the hitch pin to bumper is 5 1/4 inches? Is there a good functioning pair of hitch and folding carrier? From what Ive read, I really like the Curt products but would a Reese or Draw Tight hitch put the pin closer to the edge such that the Curt carriers would fold or do I just have to get a carrier with a longer shank?

We have installed Curt trailer hitch # C13105 on several Toyota Sienna models and the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole back to clear the rear bumper varies from 4 inches to 5-1/2 inches. Any given 2 vehicles of the same make and model and same generation will have slight differences which is why not all of the measurements are the same. The only way to know for sure on a vehicle is to install the hitch.
The Draw-Tite hitch # 75237 has a longer clearance measurement of approximately 6 inches or so.
Neither of the Curt carriers are going to work since, when folded, they will only be 3 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole. Pro Series carrier # 6502 is going to be the best option. It measures 7-1/2 inches from the center of the pin hole when folded up. I have linked a video review of this carrier for you.
