In regards to the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C52NR which is a fit for a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500, the tow hooks do not need to be removed. I have attached a photo below which shows both the trailer hitch and tow hooks in place. I have also attached for you below a copy of the install instructions so you can look these through before purchase.
