Will Curt Trailer Hitch Fit 2014 Mercedes E350 Sedan with Electronic Trunk Closing Feature
Question:
Does installing a hitch on a 2014 e class 350 Mercedes sedan interfere with the electronic truck closing feature?

Expert Reply:
Installation of Curt trailer hitch # C11001 on your 2014 Mercedes E350 sedan should not affect the electronic trunk closing feature. If it happens to operate by movement, like on the Ford Escape that have the hands free lift gate, the area the sensors monitor could be limited. But since this hitch is pretty much right down the middle of the vehicle, even if it operates the same as on the Fords it should not be a problem. I have linked the instructions for you to view.
If you plan on doing some towing with the hitch be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual for the towing capacities. And if you will be towing the recommended ball mount is # C45521. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. Finally the pin and clip is # F-4.
