Setting Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System Up On Trailer with Underslung Coupler

Question:

I am using a Curt TruTrack 17501 that I purchased from etrailer. The long adjustment rod with 2 washers is not giving me enough tension on my spring bars. My tongue weight is 1200 lbs. The head is only tilted about half way with the long adjustment rod and 2 washers. I have the support brackets up as high as they will go with out the spring bars interfering with the trailer frame. It appears that there is still a lot of adjustment left in the head, but I cannot get it with the supplied adjustment rods. Are there longer adjustment rods available or did I waste my $$ on this WDH?

I think the issue you're running into is being caused by the underslung coupler which the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System part # C17501 isn't really designed for. It's possible you can still get the system setup and working but it will never work as good as a system designed for this type of coupler like the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution part # BLU35FR which is what I recommend. It has the same sway control design and around the same price, the shank also has more adjustment which can further help with the coupler design.
