Does Trailer Lighting Have to be Installed on Vehicle Carrying Thule Combi Transporter Carrier
Question:
Have a Chrysler Pacifica with a 2” hitch but no wiring. Can you install without hooking up the brake lights ?would you be able to see the vans brake lights around the carrier?

The Thule Transporter Combi part # TH665C is small enough that the vehicle turn signals and brake lights would be visible around it mostly. The only thing that would make it confusing is that it does have lights on the back of it so I could potentially see someone being confused as to why they aren't functioning. Your third brake light would always be easily visible above the carrier but depending on the angle the blinkers could potentially get obscured.
So your best option would be to install a 4-way on your 2019 Chrysler Pacifica like with the Tekonsha # 118723 so that all of the lights will function. This kit installs pretty easily and would give you the peace of mind of knowing that the lights on the carrier would be working.
