Is There a Aftermarket Trailer Hitch Receiver For a 2006 Toyota Tundra With Factory Tow Package?
Question:
I was told by a auto body place, that the trailer hitch on my 2006 Toyota tundra can only be replaced with a factory replacement. Aftermarket ones do not work. Is that true?

That is correct. I do not currently see any aftermarket receiver which will replace your factory receiver on your 2006 Toyota Tundra. To use an aftermarket custom fit receiver you would have to source a rear bumper and support which fits a Tundra without a factory receiver. You could also use a Weld-On Receiver # C47CR and have it custom mounted to your frame. To do this you will want to visit a fabrication shop first to determine they will be able to complete the installation.
