Recommended Larger Tires from a 5.30-12 Tires on Trailer

Question:

Hello- I’ve got a light-duty utility trailer that lists the GAWR as 2090 lbs. it currently has 5x4.5 bolt spacing with 5.30x12 tires on 4.5” rims. I want a larger tire to maximize ground clearance. What are some larger options that will fit this?

So long as you have the necessary clearance in your wheel well and distance from the trailer's frame you should be able to go from 5.30-12 tires to a ST175/80-13 size tire. I recommend the Provider ST175/80R13 Radial Tire w/ 13 Inch White Spoke Wheel item # TTWA13RWS. This tire is 2.1" larger in diameter and 1.3" wider so you will want to measure to confirm you have room.

The Provider ST175/80R13 Radial Tire w/ 13 Inch White Spoke Wheel item # TTWA13RWS has a maximum capacity of 1,360 lbs at 50 psi. It is rated for up to 81 mph. The rim has a 5 on 4-1/2" lug pattern like the ones currently on your trailer.
