Is There a Base Plate Kit for a 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Unlimited with Better Ground Clarence
Question:
I flat tow a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL and currently have a blue ox baseplate on it. I offroad the Jeep a lot and am not liking how low that baseplate sits under the bumper. I have a blue ox tow bar as well. Any suggestions on something different or something I can readily remove for offroad and install again to tow? I have the factory steel bumper setup on the Jeep.....Thank You

The only option you really have would be to remove the base plate from the vehicle and install an aftermarket bumper with d-rings which is rated for flat-towing. This would then allow you to use an adapter with your tow bar like the Blue Ox Off-Road Bumper Adapters for Blue Ox Motorhome Mounted Tow Bars part # BX88357 or part # BX88358 and have much better ground clearance.
Unfortunately, there's really no such thing as a removable base plate kit and there aren't any other options with more ground clearance so this is really your only choice.
