Can The Gen-Y Pegasus Shock Absorbing Gooseneck Coupler Be Installed Backwards
Question:
Can it be installed backwards? Looking at getting trailer closer to truck. Also is the 11inch offset made with a square tube instead of round?

With where the mounting holes are on the Gen-Y Pegasus Shock Absorbing Gooseneck Coupler # 325-GH-7007 you would not be able to mount it backwards on your gooseneck trailer. The holes don't directly line up in the center with this round tube style coupler. This would also not be the intended design of the manufacturer and could put too much stress on the frame, leaving you with damage to you trailer and no warranty to fall back on.
Having the trailer a bit further back will allow for more turning clearance. If you put a coupler on backwards to move the trailer forward then you'll want to ensure you can still make a 90 degree turn before hauling the trailer around.
The square tube style Gen-Y gooseneck couplers all come with a 5" offset, like part # 325-GH-7072.
