Replacement Options for Reese Titan Weight Dist Shank
Question:
Is there a replacement for the Reese Titan RP54977 that seems no longer available?

Expert Reply:
There are a few different options for a replacement shank since the 54977 has been discontinued. You can use the Equal-i-zer # EQ90-02-4900 with a 10" rise/6" drop or # EQ90-02-4800 with an 8" rise/4" drop. You will need to choose based on the rise/drop you need for your setup. Both of these have a max gross trailer weight of 16,000 lbs and tongue weight of 1,600 lbs.
If you truly needed the 1,700/17,000 lb capacity of the Reese the only option would be the Blue Ox # BXW4028. This has a maximum gross trailer weight of 20,000 lbs and max tongue weight of 2,000 lbs with a 10-1/2" rise/4-1/2" drop.
