For a gooseneck hitch on your 2020 Ford F-150 XLT I recommend the following:

-B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BW77FR

This hitch will allow you to store the ball when not in use for full bed access. It also uses a square base for the ball to keep it from rotating. If your bed length is under 6' you may also need the 4" Offset Ball # BWGNXA4085 or the Extend-A-Goose # BWTEXA4200 for additional clearance.

One of the best things about the B&W is that it allows you to also use a 5th wheel hitch without adding additional rails to your truck bed. You have the following options based on your bed length:

-B&W Companion # BWRVK3500 (long bed)

-B&W Companion # BWRVK3400. (short bed)

The Companion is a high quality hitch that uses 1" thick jaws for a sturdy connection. This combined with the polyurethane bushings will give you a smooth, quiet ride. It also features a non-binding cam-action handle. This allows you to easily release the jaws on the hitch which is especially handy on uneven terrain.

In addition to the 5th wheel and gooseneck hitch you will also need wiring. The Curt # C57008 will plug in-line with your existing 7-way and provide you with a 7-way connection in the bed of your truck.

If you're worried about ride quality while towing you could add suspension enhancement like the Firestone Air helper Springs # F2582. These will help keep you level, absorb road shock, and improve steering and control while towing. You can also take them to the minimum psi when you aren't towing so they won't impact unloaded ride quality. Adding an air compressor # F2097 would allow you to adjust the pressure any time from the cab of your truck.
