Tire Chain Recommendation for 235/60R18 Tires on a 2020 Honda CR-V
Question:
HI team, I am looking to see which snow chains you recommend for 2020 Honda CRV Hybrid EX-L. My owner manual says Cable-type: SCC RADIAL CHAIN TC2212MM, for 235/60R 18 tires, but since this is my first time with snow chains and I would be driving in Canadian winter, I wanted to check once that should be easy to install. Thank you!

I'm glad you reached out! The SCC RADIAL CHAIN TC2212MM mentioned in the owner's manual for your 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid are adequate for keeping you street legal where chains are required, but these are tire cables so they won't provide any kind of increase in driving performance.
For your application I recommend going with the pewag version instead:
pewag Servo RS Tire Chains - # PWRS80
These chains use square links in a diamond pattern for consistent ride quality and superior performance to the cables. These chains are also Class S rated so they are great for low-clearance situations like what we see with your 235/90R18 tires. These are going to be a fairly straightforward installation but you will need to toss the chain behind your tire to accomplish this.
If you check out the linked review video you can see how to install these chains as well as how the self-tensioning device works.
