I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98912 for your 2023 Subaru Crosstrek. This receiver has a 2" opening allowing for a larger selection of ball mounts and other hitch mounted accessories. When we installed this in our shop on a similar 2021 Crosstrek it had a hitch height of 15-1/4". The Ball Mount # C45030 has a 1" rise which will get you to 16-1/4" to mount the 2" Hitch Ball # 63845.
For the wiring you will need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467. This will connect to the factory connector in your rear storage area and give you a 4-way flat connector for your Little Giant trailer. You can choose to keep the wiring inside your rear compartment and run the connector out the rear hatch when needed, or run it out through one of the floor grommets. If you choose to run it through the floor the Mounting Brackets # 18144 & # C57202 will allow you to secure the 4-way to the crossbar of the receiver without the need to drill holes.
The Master Lock Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock and Coupler Lock Set # 3794DAT will allow you to secure the ball mount to the receiver and the coupler latch on the trailer. Also included is a lock for the coupler when you store the trailer
