How Does Trailer Lighting with Single Wire Ground I just removed the brake li
Question:
Marker light issue: I just removed the brake lights and wiring on my kayak trailer and replaced with submersible lights from Menards. Each of the lights have a ground wire that I have connected to the frame. I have also grounded the the white wire that comes off the 4 pin flat connector. Brake lights, running lights, turn signals all work as expected. I had some other marker lights that I installed and connected to the Brown wire, but they will not work. The lights did not come with a ground option, just a single black wire. Any thoughts Any the marker lights are not working? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Those additional lights that are not working ground through their mounting hardware. So you would run power to the single wire and then if it's not grounding currently you can run a ground wire from main harness to the mounting hardware and that will allow it to work.
