Is etrailer Hitch that Fits 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Same as Other Bumper Style Hitch Fits

Question:

I have an 07 dodge 1500 and it has the bumper tube and this hitch straddles the tube. there are several other of this type of on the market for almost half of the price of yours. What is the difference between the two other than the price.

There are a lot of similar looking hitches to the etrailer part # e98852 out there but a good portion of what you are seeing (most likely all of them), aren't designed to fit your truck and fit other vehicles but since they all look very similar it's confusing.

The etrailer hitch # e98852 was designed to fit your 2007 Dodge Ram which means it will install very easily and was weight rated for your vehicle specifically. The other options you've seen out there might fit but they are most likely for other vehicles or universal style hitches that won't fit well and would have an unknown weight rating.
