Troubleshooting Steps Not Fully Extending and Retracting on 2017 Newmar Dutchstar

Question:

I have a 2017 Newmar Dutchstar when I open the door for steps go about a quarter of the way out and stop but the motor keeps running a few seconds and stops. When you shit the door the steps stay out a little as the motor keeps running a few seconds and then stops. What I believe to be the part number on the sticker on the step is 366043. Is this the correct part number for these steps and do you have the parts I will need?

According to Newmar you have the # LC3722862 steps on your 2017 Newmar Dutchstar. The # LC379147 you looked at would be the correct replacement motor for your 366043, but it sounds like the motor is not the issue.

I would check the gear box and see if there is any damage. If the teeth are worn or broken that is more than likely the problem and you will need to replace it with # LC379160. If that is not the case, you need to replace the control unit with # LC379146
