Can 10" Diameter Electric Brakes Be Fitted To a 2,000LB Trailer Axle?

Question:

Do you guys or anyone sell 10inch brakes for 2000# axles? I realize that 10inch drums are fitted to 3500# hubs. Is there a hybrid hub and drum assembly out there that would work for my application? In other words 10inch drums on 2000# hubs. Thanks

It appears the only size brakes available for a 2,000lb axle is going to be the 7" Diameter # AKEBRK-2 due to there not being a hub for this size axle spindle which will accommodate the larger 10" brakes. If you are set on the larger 10" brakes you can replace your Spindles # TRU74FR with the larger 3,500LB spindles or place a 3,500LB Axle # 35545E-ST-89 under the trailer. You will still be able to use your 2,000lb suspension as long as you do not exceed the weight rating of the springs. With the larger spindle you would be able to install 10" Brakes # AKEBRK-35-SA with the larger Hub # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K.
