Stabilization Strap Recommendation for Curt Trailer Hitches

Question:

I am looking at the hitch part #C121082 for a 2013 RAV4 and your write up says: All non-trailer loads - bike racks, cargo carriers and so forth - should be supported with stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support these loads will void your hitch warranty from Curt. What do I need to use as a stabilizing strap? And where should it be attached to stabilize the load on the hitch? I plan on using one of your hitch mounted bike racks.

You can use any type of towing or tie-down strap that you would like, but Curt offers the Curt Trailer Hitch Support Strap, # 18050, that you can use. The purpose of the strap is to help stabilize the load when it is mounted in the trailer hitch. Typically, the strap is wrapped around the bike rack and attached to the top edge of the rear hatch. You could also wrap the strap around a roof mounted crossbar if your RAV4 has a roof rack.
