The Carlisle HydraStar for drum brakes, # HBA-10, is a very popular option. You would not use a disc brake actuator on a drum brake system because the psi rating is too high for the drum brakes.
Given the capacity of your trailer it is probably fairly long and if the brakes are far from the coupler the system will provide better braking the closer the actuator is to the brakes. This is true for any electric over hydraulic system.
You will also need a break away kit if you do not already have one, # 50-85-313. And you will need a brake controller that is compatible with electric over hydraulic trailer brakes such as the P3, # 90195 or the P2 # 90885. If your truck has a factory integrated brake controller or already have an aftermarket controller then check the chart on the product page for the actuator to determine if it is compatible with what you have. If not then you would either need one of the controllers listed above or use the adapter # HBA-CAM so the system works properly.
