Is the 5 Hole Brake Mounting Flange Pattern for Trailers a Standard

Question:

I am restore an older trailer with electric brakes. The magnets on the brakes are round and I’ve come to learn replacement parts are not available for them. I am considering replacing the entire brake assembly. Is the 5 hole pattern standard on older as well as newer backing plates or do I need to measure the hole pattern to purchase a replacement. Thank you,

Expert Reply:

The five hole brake mounting flange is a standard and has been for awhile but the only way to know for sure that you order the correct replacement assemblies is by measuring to confirm. I have attached for you below the dimensions of this standardized pattern. I recommend the Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-7-SA which works on any axle between 5,200 lbs to 7,000 lbs if yours is a match. Please note, these are 12" x 2" assemblies which you'll want to verify as well to confirm fit.

I have attached for you below a full list of our options if the above won't work.
